It’s time for the annual food festivities at the Seattle Center. Drop by Bite of Seattle on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd (today, tomorrow, and Sunday) for yummy food and potential socializing. It’s free, and this year Comcast is filming their show Dating ON DEMAND at the Bite. In their words: “Want to be on TV? Comcast is filming Dating ON DEMAND from the festival this year! One of the great things about the Puget Sound area is the opportunity for great sailing, and sailing is a good way to meet people, especially with an affordable opportunity like Seattle Singles Yacht Club:
“The SSYC meets every Monday evening (except on holidays) at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club near West Marine and Shilshole Marina. Casual members pay $7.00 at the door for entry.
“While there is a nominal charge to attend our weekly meetings and monthly dances, you will never be asked to pay for a boat ride. SSYC is a nonprofit organization where single adults enjoy boating and other social activities.
SSYC is a place where skippers find crew, and people who want to become crew find boats to crew on. All levels are welcome, from experienced boat owners, novice crew eager to learn, and every skill level in-between. Boats owned by SSYC skippers include a variety of sailboats, catamarans and powerboats.”

This morning Alma Rubenstein from The Professional Dater was on “Fox News This Morning”. In her brief interview she gave tips on tuning up one’s appearance using the five senses as a guide: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. I won’t regurgitate her specific tips here (you can visit her site, if you like), but using the senses as a guide for your own appearance checklist is a useful idea.
Amusingly, when I fired up my web browser to find her URL, I noticed in my search results a page on another site that said: “Beware the Professional Dater.” Thinking it was a critique of Rubenstein’s site, I stopped by for a look. It turned out not to be; it’s an article warning against people who become “professional daters” on online services who never commit because they’re addicted to the notion the next match will be better. The site, Date My Pet, containing the article turned out to be another dating service, but with this angle: it’s geared toward people with pets. Their tagline: “Date Me. Date My Pet.” SeattleDating411 will investigate and report our findings in a future post.
